Finances
The Chamber is financed by membership fees and fund raising projects. The Salem Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization and has 501c IRS status.

Board of Directors

The Chamber members elect a Board of Directors to lead the Chamber as they work for the betterment of Salem and Fulton County. Officers are elected by the board members and consist of President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. The Past President serves on the board as an adviser. Board members serve 2 year terms and can be re-elected.

About the Chamber

Board Members

Mission

The Mission of the Salem Chamber of Commerce is to coordinate, lead, and promote business development, economic development and tourism while enhancing the quality of life and the natural resources of the area thorough community involvement and recognition. The Chamber is run by volunteers who share an interest in making Salem and Fulton County a better place to live and work.

The Salem Chamber of Commerce is a voluntary organization of business and professional men and women who work together for the purpose of promoting the community of Salem and Fulton County. The strength of the chamber lies in attracting the greatest of members from the community, creating a pool of resources from which ideas, energy and finances can be drawn.

Chamber Sponsored Events

The Chamber hosts one large fundraiser each year. Funds from this fund raising event are used to fund projects and events throughout the year and a scholarship to a graduating senior.

The Annual Fourth of July Celebration in the park is sponsored by the Chamber on the 4th of July at the Salem City Park. Local business support enables the Chamber to put on one of the best fireworks displays in North Central Arkansas.

The Chamber sponsors two Community Yard Sales and Business Sidewalk Sales each year in April and September. In conjunction with these events the Fulton County Fair Association sponsors the Fairgrounds Flea Market in April each year. Vendor space is available in a secure climate controlled building and outside at the Fulton County Fairgrounds. These two events bring a large number of visitors to Salem.

Chamber Awards Banquet honors the Community Service Person of the Year, the Business Person of the Year, and the Educator of the Year.

Lights on the Square is held the first Monday in December each year. This is the official kick-off for the holidays in Salem.

The Chamber also hosts the Fulton County Homecoming Festival Memorial Day weekend and participates in the Fulton County Fair in August.
