The Salem Chamber of Commerce will hold a board meeting at noon on September 8 in the Orange Room of the NAEC building in Salem.

The 91st Annual Fulton County Fair will open in Salem on August 9 with the Young Miss and Miss Fulton County Beauty Pageant. The fair will run through August 14 and will feature exhibits, pageants, a talent show, a horse show, team roping, Hall Rodeo LLC rodeo, Senior Day, a Truck Pull and will end with the popular Demolition Derby on Saturday night.
Kenny’s Funland will be on the midway Tuesday – Saturday and will offer armbands each night.
Beauty Pageant and Photogenic Contest entries are due by July 15th. Entry forms are available at area businesses and at the Fulton County Fair Office.
Online entries are new this year in the Creative Arts and Livestock Departments. Exhibitors can go online at www.fulton.fairmanager.org and enter their exhibits. All Livestock entries must be in by July 30th and Creative Arts entries must be in by August 1st . For persons who do not have access to the internet, a paper entry form can be submitted. All Creative Arts Exhibits will be judged prior to the opening of the fair.

Salem was the place to be on April 10th if you were looking for bargains. There were yard sales throughout the area and the Fairgrounds Flea Market had a large number of vendors. Thanks to vendors who participated in the Flea Market and to all of the visitors who traveled to Salem to shop. The annual event draws people from a 150 mile radius of Salem.
